The New Hampshire Marathon at Newfound Lake

Saturday, 10/3/26 – 9:00 AM start for all races

Registration opens January 1, 2026.
Beginning January 1, runners and volunteers may register online for the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and Kids Race.

Established in 1993, the New Hampshire Marathon has been described as one of the most beautiful races in New England. The course circles Newfound Lake during peak foliage, offering runners a chance to experience the natural beauty of New Hampshire in a welcoming, community-oriented setting.

One of the largest annual sporting events in the Newfound region, the 33rd Annual New Hampshire Marathon will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, at 9:00 AM. More than 500 runners are expected to participate across all events, including the full marathon, half marathon, 10K race, and kids race. The event attracts local runners as well as participants from over 45 states and 10 countries.

Since 1995, with the support of generous sponsors, the New Hampshire Marathon has donated more than $300,000 to local youth-focused nonprofit organizations. The event also supports the local economy by bringing athletes, families, and visitors to the Newfound area.

Participants in the Marathon and 10K will start on Lake Street, in front of Newfound Memorial Middle School. Half Marathon participants will start at Sculptured Rocks in Groton. Downtown Bristol traffic will experience temporary delays during the race start; however, North Main Street will remain open as a detour. Carroll Brown, also known as The Solitary Man, will once again perform at the finish line in Kelley Park.

A major event means a great need for volunteers. Roles include assisting with registration, parking, traffic direction, water stops, and finish-line support. Those interested in helping may register online to volunteer or contact the Race Committee at race@nhmarathon.com.
