6/15/20: Good day everyone.

With baseball activities starting on Monday, we would like to share what we will be doing and what we expect our players and parents to be doing as well to combat the spread of Covid-19.

First the good news.  We have moved into Stage 2 of the COVID-19 REOPENING GUIDANCE, we do not have to adhere to the 10 person on a field at a time rule. This will allow us to start activities and if we have enough players perhaps start games.

All staff, volunteers, and athletes should bring to sporting events and wear reusable/washable cloth face coverings over their nose and mouth when around others and not actively engaged in athletics and when social distancing is difficult to maintain.

Parents/guardians of minors attending a sporting event should be asked to wear cloth face coverings while around other spectators, staff, volunteers, and athletes when social distancing is not possible.

All Coaches and Players should have in their bag Alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.  Frequent hand washing between drills is important

Athletes shall bring their own equipment, including, but not limited to, gloves, helmets, bats, and not share their personal equipment with other athletes. Should your player not have their own helmet or bat, the TTCC will provide  bats and helmets.  Each Bat and Helmet should be labeled with the player’s name.  I will be at the first practice of each team to label the equipment if you do not already have a label maker.

We will sanitize baseball and softballs after each practice.

We will request that all players sanitize their equipment before practice.

Our coaches will have enough on their plate setting up practices and making sure that all equipment is sanitized.   For this we ask that a parent for each practice will volunteer  to monitor social distancing and compliance with protective actions, and to prompt other staff, volunteers, athletes, and spectators about social distancing, hand hygiene, and the use of cloth face coverings

We will require that any coach, player, parent or spectator to stay home if:

  • The individual has any symptoms of COVID-19or fever of 100.4 degrees F or higher
  • Has had any close contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have had COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
  • Traveled in the past 14 days either:
    • Internationally (outside the U.S.),
    • By cruise ship, or
    • Domestically (within the U.S.) outside of NH, VT, or ME on public transportation (e.g., bus, train, plane, etc.).

Athletes, staff, and volunteers should bring their own water bottles. No sharing or common use water bottles or drinking stations are allowed. Equipment bags and backpacks should be placed 6-feet apart. Athletes should not touch other athletes’ bags, equipment, or water bottles. Benches and dugout areas must not be used for storage of personal or group equipment.   We will store the equipment at a safe distance down away from the playing field down the first and third baseline.

We will also need to eliminate mouth based activities.  The will be no chewing gum, spitting seeds or licking fingers.

Please sign your child up

Thank you all for your understanding of the precautions we must put in place in these trying times.   Should you have any questions I can be reached by email or via phone or text 603-707-8286.

5/11/20: New Survey!

4/21/20 Update:

Hello everyone,

This is a letter that I hoped never to have to send. With the recent decision of Governor Chris Sununu to keep New Hampshire schools closed for the remainder of the school year, the Newfound Baseball and Softball board has decided to cancel the spring sports season. This will include all levels of baseball and softball falling under the TTCC program. While this was a disappointing decision to make, it was made with the best of intentions for keeping all Newfound players, parents, coaches, umpires and friends safe. We are living in unprecedented times and we hope that all of you are safe and remain healthy.

The Baseball and Softball board met via Zoom on Friday night and unanimously came to the decision to cancel the season. The Baseball & Softball Commission is meeting again in two weeks, as we hope to come up with ideas on an alternative style season when the stay at home order is lifted. We understand that many of you have already paid for the upcoming season.  The TTCC will give families that paid the following options.  A credit towards your TTCC account to be used on a future TTCC program; a full refund check to be mailed out; or the money can be donated for TTCC Program Scholarships.

We have created a survey at this link to get some feedback on the level of interest for an alternate season. Please take the time to answer it.

Thank you and be safe!

Jeff Kane
Newfound Baseball/Softball/T-Ball

We’re sorry to have to share this sad news & can’t wait until we can start offering some fun recreational activities for the community!

Please, if you paid for the season already, let us know what you’d like us to do with those fees:

  1. User credit on TTCC Rec1 Account (to be used toward any future TTCC programs)
  2. Full Refund. If you paid by card and we can still credit your card back the refund, we will do that – otherwise we will mail out refund checks.
  3. Please donate my registration fee back to the TTCC to be used for the program scholarship fund. This fund will help families that may be struggling financially to still be able to participate in TTCC programs.

Thanks all – we miss you and hope you’re doing well. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Take care,

Dan MacLean
